A-Z Challenge: V is for...

VALLARTA, Puerto VALLARTA, Mexico is where we went on our honeymoon.

We booked our all inclusive trip through one of those travel companies and they booked us on a Hooters air charter.

We stayed at the Riu Jalisco Resort.  The first night they accidentally forgot to book us a honeymoon room with an ocean view and were booked solid so he had a view looking out at Nuevo Vallarta.

The second night they moved us to an ocean view room.

Here are some other photos around the resort.

There were two pools, one was for families and the other for adults only.  We used both since the family pool had slides.

Notice how the sky is cloudy in every picture?  That would be the remainder of Hurricane Stan.  We had no idea there was a hurricane until at our wedding reception and we thought the person who asked us about it was joking since it was in October.  Luckily Stan was mostly played out, but made it gloomy the whole time and made our fishing trip very rough.

We went deep sea fishing and it was quite an experience.  Because of the Hurricane there were 10-12 foot swells in the ocean and we were all queasy.

Here is a video that shows a little of how the boat was being tossed in the rough sea.

We also took a city tour and had lunch in the jungle.

On the way back to town we stopped at a Tequila factory.  That's when we discovered that the free booze at the resort must be watered down because we never really got much of a buzz until taking shots at the tequila factory.

Overall it was a great way to celebrate our wedding.

  1. Fun! Did you like the all inclusive trip? I mean that part of it? Ive thought about taking one of those but never knew if they were worth it. :)

    1. The all inclusive was okay, I'm not sure I would go that route again. As I mentioned I think all the drinks were very light on the alcohol, so it was kind of like, why bother? The food was good, they had three restaurants and you just showed up to which ever one you wanted during their open hours and ate as much as you liked. The problem with that is on the days we left the resort we were on our own again, so we still spent a bit on food and drink outside of the resort.

  2. Looks really like a nice trip, Mexico look like a beautiful place.

And I love the fact that I finally have a face to put to the nice person I've been bloggy friends with this past month.

  3. Congrats on the, marriage! lol I am getting married one of these days but will check the weather report in advance thanks to your reminder.

How far was the beach from your room?

    1. Thanks for the congrats, we will be celebrating our 7th anniversary this October and everything is still great about our marriage! No suicide or divorce thoughts for either of us.

The third photo was taken from our balcony, and you can see where the path leads out to the beach at the end of it. So I don't exactly know, but maybe 500 yards, or meters, which ever unit you use where you are at.

  4. That looks like so much fun! We went to Disney World on our honeymoon.

  5. Looks like a great trip! We went to Maine for a few days for our honeymoon. Our real honeymoon came almost 3 years later when we had an amazing trip in Italy! I would highly recommend it!

  6. That resort looks AMAZING! And I'm so jealous of the deep sea fishing! I want to go so bad!

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment!
